Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage landed in a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
