Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club remains an option. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-season tenure that included Champions League success and the Premier League crown in 30 years, currently occupies roles overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured the league title last season, but many fans who adore the manager would embrace the notion of his potential comeback. Speaking candidly, he shared with the podcast host: “I declared I will never coach any other side in England. Which implies if then it’s Liverpool...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, that means the choice could be mine down the line, who knows. Must I choose now? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, it's not necessary. I can just see how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding which situations would need to occur to tempt his return to the dugout, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he commented. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing during downpours for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for press conferences repeatedly each week or doing numerous chats each week.

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, crediting him for the tweaks which secured the championship in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the notion of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. The French striker, incredible player. This is a well-built well-judged squad. You don’t have to worry regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of Jota, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, and its impact at the club. Jota lost his life in a vehicle collision together with his sibling in July.

“Who can fill the void of a person like him? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, it's his character. It's hard to picture the squad missing him. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. A devastating blow for all the boys as well. Not a single person will ever use it to justify results yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room which he filled completely. Dealing with that individually is not easy. Impossible.”
