Combatants smirk as they move on the rear of a transport truck, racing past a series of several dead bodies and heading in the direction of the descending African sun.

These individuals are celebrating a atrocity that relief organizations suspect resulted in the deaths of over thousands of civilians in the Sudan's urban center of el-Fasher during October.
An Urban Center Severed from the Globe
Having held the community under blockade for approximately 24 months, from late summer the militia proceeded to consolidate its position and blockade the surviving residents.
