Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to news outlets.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
